Text message notifications

ArborUp gives tree service companies a photo-first estimate-request form. When a homeowner sends a request, ArborUp texts the company's crew so someone can look at the tree and call back quickly. This page explains exactly what those texts are, how a phone number ends up receiving them, and how to stop.
The texts come from ArborUp, a product of Delineator Media, LLC. They go only to people who work with an ArborUp customer and who have confirmed, from their own phone, that they want them.
1. How a number gets added
A business owner signs in to their ArborUp dashboard and lists the crew phone numbers that should hear about new requests. The field looks like this:
Notifications
One per line. Each gets a text with the first photo, name, location, and a private link to the full request.
Each number gets one text from ArborUp asking the person to reply YES. Nobody receives estimate requests until they do. After that it's one text per request, so frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. They can reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time. See our text message details, Terms, and Privacy Policy.
- The owner confirms permission. The box is unchecked by default and must be checked to add a new number. The disclosure next to the field says what the texts are, how often they come, that message and data rates may apply, and how to get help or stop.
- Each person confirms for themselves. The moment a number is added, ArborUp sends it one text asking the person to reply YES. Until they do, that number receives nothing else — no estimate requests, no reminders.
- The owner can see who's in. Settings shows each number as Waiting for YES, Confirmed, or Opted out, and lets the owner re-send the request (at most a few times, spaced out).
2. The opt-in text and the reply
This is the whole exchange, word for word, for a crew member added by Acme Tree Service:

Contact card · tap to save
The confirmation also carries a contact card (a standard .vcf file) so you can save the number as ArborUp, logo and all. Future texts then show up under that name instead of an unfamiliar toll-free number. Saving it is optional and changes nothing about what you receive.
Replying anything other than YES (or START/UNSTOP) leaves the number unconfirmed. We don't nag: if there's no reply, nothing more is sent unless the business owner re-sends the request.
3. What the notifications look like
Once confirmed, a number gets one text per estimate request the business receives. The first photo the homeowner attached rides along.
ArborUp · toll-free
ArborUp: New estimate request for Acme Tree Service Maria Lopez · Tree removal 412 Ridgecrest Dr, Asheville, NC Prefers: Call https://arborup.app/l/… Reply STOP to opt out
The private link opens the full request — every photo, the voice memo, the address on a map, and the homeowner's contact details — and expires after 72 hours. Frequency depends entirely on how many requests the business gets; a busy week after a storm means more texts, a quiet week means none.
4. Stopping, coming back, and getting help
- Reply STOP to any message and the number stops receiving texts from ArborUp for every business. The carrier confirms the opt-out, and the business owner sees the number marked Opted out in Settings.
- Reply START (or UNSTOP) to the same number to begin receiving texts again.
- Reply HELP for a short description of the program and how to reach us. The reply reads: “ArborUp: estimate-request alerts for tree service crews. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Help: arborup.app/support”
- You can also ask the business to remove your number from its Settings, or contact us and we'll take care of it.
5. Consent and your information
- Consent is collected per person, by text, from the phone that will receive the messages. A business owner adding your number is not consent — your YES is. We record when the request was sent, when you replied, and what you replied.
- Consent covers estimate-request notifications from the business that added you, and nothing else. ArborUp does not send marketing texts.
- Text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties. The messaging provider that delivers the texts receives only what it needs to deliver them.
- Message and data rates may apply, per your mobile plan. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- The rest of how we handle information is in our Privacy Policy; the agreement with businesses is in our Terms of Service.
